Journey through quail embryo wins Nikon science video prize
Sequential images of a ten day old quail embryo have won Portuguese biologist, Gabriel G. Martins first prize in this year's Nikon Small World in Motion Photomicrography Competition. The entry was one of hundreds submitted for the contest, which aims to highlight the latest techniques of scientific imaging.
An Israeli company has devised a technology that allows wheelchairs and bicycles to travel more comfortably over bumps and down stairs. Softwheel says its 'symmetrical selective in-wheel suspension' system is designed to absorb the impact of obstacles in the road, and could be adapted to suit any vehicle with wheels.
