Incredible footage shows a new volcanic eruption in southeast Iceland as a crack spews molten lava metres into the air. Lava has been spurting from a crack north of the Bardarbunga volcano since an eruption occurred on Friday (29th August) followed by a larger eruption on Sunday (1st August). The fissure slices through the 200-year-old Holuhraun lava field, between the Bardarbunga and the Askja volcanoes. The stunning footage was captured by Einar Guddman who flew for two and a half hours in a plane to reach the dangerous eruption site. The 47-year-old from Akureyri, Iceland battled windy weather and a sandstorm at to shoot the scene from a plane 500 feet above the ground.
