Two brothers, Ben and Andrew Donegan, and their friend Joel Ryan had a chance encounter with a rogue great white shark off the coast of Portland, Australia, on January 27. The friends were out on a routine fishing trip when the 5-meter shark began to circle their boat. As the shark circled the men decided to try and pet it.
