The ruins of a commercial airliner which crashed in Lagos on Sunday were still smouldering on Monday morning, and workers at the scene were taking bodies from the wreckage and clearing debris.
A winter storm caused travel chaos across Scotland on December 5 after high winds forced the closure of the rail network and many roads. Winds in excess of 160kph were reported in some areas of Scotland with fallen trees and power lines adding to the disruption.
