Saudi genome project targets high incidence of genetic disease in the kingdom
Scientists in Saudi Arabia have embarked on an ambitious project to map the genetic codes of thousands of its citizens. The Saudi Human Genome Project is aimed at determining the genetic factors inherent in the kingdom's high incidence of diseases like diabetes, which effect more than 20% of the population.
