Motorcyle fire stunt burns spectator cars in France
A spectacular fire at a motorcycle race held in Morbihan, France, burned 64 cars belonging to spectators attending the event on September 1. The fire broke out in a field where the cars were parked after a stunt involving fire, during the intermission of the race, went horribly wrong. Backed by a strong wind, the flames quickly engulfed the field and the cars; which were parked in close proximity to each other. Credit: stefObzh.
A U.S. Air Force pilot flying a C-17 Globemaster III makes a surprise landing at a tiny island airport in Tampa, Florida, an incident which is now being investigated. The 400,000 pound aircraft ended up landing on a runway only designed for 20,000 pounds!
Pilots in northern Spain were faced with the choice of landing in incredibly strong winds after a violent storm affected the area. Hopefully some of those passengers didn't have weak stomachs!
